Scout Record Card

Categories:

Every once in a while I need to produce a record card for a Scout’s Challenge badge progress.

Many moons ago, someone created a clever spreadsheet to take OSM data and do just that. I lost that years ago, but today I created a new one.

If this proves useful to you, please let me know. I have tested it with both of our troops and it appears to work well. Any problems, I will “do my best” to help.

Oh great, another spreadsheet to make my life ‘easier’. Because what I really needed was more screen time. Cheers for that, Busy Scouter.

Just stumbled across this gem. Been hand tracking badges, and it’s been a nightmare. How’s it handle custom achievements, Busy Scouter?

sounds interesting this spreadsheet. can it be shared with parents so they can see how their kids are doing? not sure if thats how it works.

This sounds intriguing! How user-friendly is this spreadsheet for someone not too savvy with tech? Asking for a friend, obviously.

If your friend can navigate basic Excel, they’ll be fine. Plus, sounds like The Busy Scouter is up for helping out.

Actually, Geoff, I tried it and it’s pretty straightforward. Might be worth a look before knocking it.

Bet I could still lose this faster than a physical card! Does it come with a ‘Sammy-proof’ guarantee? 😉

Seems great but how secure is the data on this spreadsheet? Been wary with all the GDPR stuff.

Sounds cool. But does it have a Pulp Fiction theme? Just kidding. Might help keep track of all those badges in a less chaotic way.

if this spreadsheet does the job, does it mean I can skip the meetings and just send this as my contribution? lol

Interested in the mechanic behind pulling data from OSM into this spreadsheet. Is there any specific formula you’re using for this, Busy Scouter?

Interesting concept, but I wonder how it manages personal data. Ensuring GDPR compliance is crucial. Any insights?

Seems like a lot of hassle for something we’ve all been doing on paper for years. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
