I wanted to “sell” badges – both internally to our team leaders and excess stock to other users.
David Breakwell has created a useful tool to quickly upload badges and get them working with a WooCommerce plugin for your website.
This got the products in and I was able to add in the stock we have. I also created some custom items, like our local district and county badges. I also connected Stripe to accept payments, using a plugin rather than WooPayments since we already have an account.
This was working well, but a pain to have to search and add badge by badge to an order. I also wanted my internal team to pay by invoice. It was also a pain to add deliveries I received from the Scout shop. So I created the ScoutBadgeShop plugin and have made it available here.
- V2 – bundled for distribution. Features include:
- A new user type “wholesale customer” is created. Change users to this type to allow them to back order badges and to pay be invoice
- A cost price and location field is added to each item. Currently for future functionality for reporting (and finding the stock).
- A shortcode “[scoutbadgeshop_products]” has been added, which can have a categories attribute to display a shopping grid where a user can add multiple badges easily (they can only order up to the stock level displayed, unless a wholesale customer).
- In the WP Admin area, a Stock Deliveries area allows a user to easily add deliveries with a reference.
- A stock reports option has been created with a few reports at this time.
